It's been a while since I started this, and I've finally found some time to make some progress on it. One cool piece that I discovered from the dungeon kit that I am using is this hallway corner piece here:
As you can see, this piece in particular has a portion of it cut out that seems to be specifically for implementing light rays. I love that there are pieces like this because it allows me to start thinking about some lighting early on. In this instance, once I move on to the lighting phase, I will already know this can be a place to put a light ray shining in on something of interest, like a treasure chest or a body to loot. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more pieces like this one!
So, I was able to spend a few hours continuing to build out my level layout sketches in the editor, and it is coming along slowly but surely. I finished building out the 1st floor layout and started on the 2nd floor. You can check out some in-editor screenshots of my progress below!
